The downsizing process is unique in the fact that it often needs to begin many months before the actual move is going to take place, which is why proactive thinking and detailed planning is key. Once we have a clear vision of where you are currently and where you want to go, we will put a comprehensive timeline in place to effectively get you from point A to point B. This plan will not only cover how we are going to list your property in order to maximize sale price, but what needs to be done in the months leading up to that date, in order to get your property ready to list and, in many cases, get you emotionally prepared to make the move.

In addition to the usual reinforcements that we typically engage, such as contractors, photographers, home inspectors and stagers, most downsizing situations require a little extra help, and we are here to not only determine what additional help is required but also provide a roster of reliable businesses who can fulfill that need. In downsizing situations where the homeowner has been in the home for many years, the task of de-cluttering can seem overwhelming and may require the assistance of family members, and sometimes even professional organizers, to remove, sell and dispose of unneeded furniture and belongings. We recognize that this can be an emotional process and approach it with both compassion & sensitivity.

Our goal is to ensure that you enter this process with the utmost confidence, not only in us but in the plan that we are executing. We will communicate this plan to you in full, but also repeat it in digestible chunks in order to prevent overwhelm and ensure that you are aware of what is going on every step of the way. If you are tech-savvy, great, but if not we will write it all down and provide regular reminders of key dates in whatever communication method suits you best. We find that downsizers often like to have other family members involved, and we are happy to communicate and keep them in the loop as well. We are also available 24/7 and always happy to answer any questions or address any concerns.
